CapeRock asked us to help them produce FakeChecker, an interactive installation for the German broadcasting companyZDF. This engaging installation tests visitors’ ability to distinguish fake news images from real ones. After ten attempts, participants receive a calculated score and a judgment of their performance. We designed the installation to allow the ZDF team to easily update it with new images reflecting current news events. We developed two distinct versions of the installation: one designed for use at fairs and another portable version that travels across Germany for special events. The latter also serves as an eye-catching feature at the entrance of ZDF’s headquarters in Mainz, Germany.
The stand-alone version of the FakeChecker installation is currently touring schools, media events, and smaller fairs across Germany. Designed for convenience, it is both easy to transport and quick to set up.
