Every year the Dutch Public Broadcasting Agency and the World Wildlife Fund organise a fundraising event for endangered animals called ‘Zapp Your Planet’. This year the event focused on raising money for sharks. TV show ‘De Buitendienst’ asked us to make a fun interactive installation for the event based around the theme ’Shark Alert!’.
With our Face Dance installation kids mix their ‘shark alert sound’ in shark themed animations and music. Once they recorded their sound in front of the Kinect 3D camera, their face and voice are immediately scratched, distorted and manipulated in a fun, creative way. The end result, a funny personalised shark video, can be easily recorded en shared by the children with their friends on social media.
