Railway opening
We developed the ‘Augmented Stage’ technology where you can literally walk into a professional produced story and end up on the screen. Play your part the way you like it and share your performance with your friends.
BKB used this technology  for the opening of the ‘Hanzelijn’, a new railroad track in the Netherlands built by ProRail. At the opening, the queen of Holland triggered a performance where a ‘ProRail worker’ on stage entered the screen and led the audience through the experience of building the railroad.
Using Augmented Stage the ProRail worker was able to walk around on the construction sites on stage and on the video screens live. During the presentation he performed all kinds of construction work like laying bricks and pipes, draining, drilling, framing and rigging at the construction sites, giving the audience an idea what building the Hanzelijn was like. In a very playful way the performer recorded video samples on the spot and triggered these live into pre-produced content.
What we did
We developed the Augmented Stage technology, consisting of an interactive video engine, interactive 3DÂ motion graphics and video mix software, 3D audiovisual effects, software to control Ableton Live and software to connect Microsoft’s Kinect, Nintendo’s WII controller or any other sensor to this system.
